You will most likely veg these 6-8 weeks. I really recommend trying to save a little and get a HPS for flowering. It really does make a big difference in your yield.

I agree with Budz--keep the light on 24-0.

I want a 600 watt one that i can switch the light spectrum from veg to flower. I eventually wanna use a 1000 watt for flower and a 600 watt for veg. I just been tryna compare prices online not looking to spend more than 300? considered a cool tube too

This is what I am running, THG actually found it for me and its working great!

They make them 400/600/1000W all dimmable by 25%/50%/100% (Im pretty sure its those three %).

I payed less than 300 for the light and the 6" induction fan/filter setup. Add in 100$ for the tent and I now have a grow setup for about 400$ that is versatile and cool-able (most importantly!)

Cool! Glad i finally got all that down.. Last thing for me is a tent 4x4 to start at then ill get a 4x8 and use that for flowering. i seen an all in one kit with the fans and all for 600 sumthin i have to find that thread again!

Heres is a few update pics! i transplanted the grape ape into a gallon milk container, and my other reggie seed into a half gallon container. I also untied my grapes but i left a ziptie in there since she likes to lean, same for my grape ape. I have to say tho the reggie plants are growing vigorously go figure, i hope my bagseed turns out like Budz4me's lol :hubba:

Checked on em this morning and wow the plants are growing good! however my "grapes" that i had tied up seems to be not doing so well. it is the oldest one and it stretched the most in the beginning now i think that it wont survive, pics to come. ill give it to the weekend but its leaves arent looking as lively as the other ones who are younger

Here are the pics, the wilty looking one is the "grapes" the other one with the ziptie is grape ape(ill buy labels next week) and the rest are reggie seeds. They are sprouting nice fan leaves, but i still feel like they need more light. Hope i can get a t5 next week at least a 2 bulb

Yeah thats the thumbnail but when you click the pick they come out upright :hairpull: :confused2:

im giving that wimpy one until sunday. do i have to get rid of all the soil and use fresh soil to transplant another plant into its place? or can i just remove the dying plant and plug the healthy one in its place

Nice repurposing of milk cartons:)

very nice

typically black opaque containers are the best. Or you could electrical/duct tape up the sides to minimize light coming in from the sides as light impedes root growth. It doesn't really seem to be affecting your gals tho :aok:

keeper up, lookin real proper there, Gary.

Keep'em Lit :smoke1:

I'm curious why you are so intent on using MH to veg with?

Looking for the best light. i Know t5s are good but ive been reading a 4-600 mh veg light will be better for them in veg stage. i wouldnt say intent, just heavily leaning towards

id go with T5s myself, MH put out way too much heat it can get outta hand quickly when the weather starts to get hotter. T5s put out the same light, better light spread, dont cost nearly as much to operate, longer lifespan when used 24/7, bulbs are way cheaper, and i mean WAY cheaper, plus the T5s have a much slimer design so its easier to work with, and no additional ballist to make noise and/or extra heat. also what happy head said, you can keep your T5s much much closer to your vegging plants then a MH which will give you more compact and vigirous growth since less light energy is lost from travel distance, MHs with their heat output, much more then an HPS, have to be further away to prevent light/heat burn. honestly all around T5s are better for Veg. unless you got a whole basement or warehouse with industrial ventilation and loads of room, MHs wont do more then T5s, except for additional headaches worrying and fiddling with heat issues. imo unless your large scale stick with T5s. sorry for the run on its kinda late and im a lil medicated XP but still this is what iv found through research around this site and friends who do both indoor/outdoor personal grows and large scale operations for medical patients and even still a few of my large scale friends still use T5s as primary lighting and the others use a mix of MH and T5s, its overkill if yah ask me considering both growers get the same veg results, one just has a much lower electric bill to worry about. hope this helps yah lean more towards T5s you wont be sorry using them.

More to consider! maybe for my clones/seedlings idk. But which has the lower electric bill your buddy using the MH or the T5's
The plants are much bigger now picsto come later :hubba:

I get about the same veggy growth with 216W of T5 that I got from 400W of MH. The MH is just so hot and does not spread the light nearly as well.

Some update pics! Im ordering my grow tent next week so that gives me more time to make a final decision on lighting. Are they getting to big for the cups? do i have alternating nodes? these plants are 2 weeks old
