Does anyone have any tips on what kind of soil would be best for growing outdoors in the mojave desert? It gets up to 100 degrees often and my soil drys out fast. Right now im useing steer manure, mulch, and some soil i found mixed together.

may i suggest some soil moist or other brand of water absorbing polymer crystals. you can order all different size ganules online i know. just google it if you dont know wat it is or serch for soil moist on here.
and i would say any thing taht retains moisture if ya in the mojave of all places tho. or you'll be out there takin turns wit ya plants all day drinkin water.

I would mix in A load of Vermiculite as it hold's water or I'd add water absorbing crystals they hold water extremly well, I think either 1 will help but not solve your problem, I can't say I've tried to grow in a dessert before goodluck!
