With new found info this is before:

This is after. Only removed two fan leaves and exposed a lot of bud sides tucking leaves under or tying down.

You say leave the leaf above and take out the little bud branch beneath? That actually makes sense..

No it doesn't...your growing bud not leaf. It may have just been a miss placed sentence. Just wanna make sure this guy isn't stripping bud sites.

I've actually seen a guy do that... Got confused and poof...fucked up a plant big-time.

That's where I disagree......it makes the MOST sense. Unfortunately I can rationalize most anything. What if a very young, but mature fan leaf is over a 1.5" bud branch? It might just be that removing the branch below forces two more to be pushed out in a more suitable spot? Above the fan leaf you didn't cut, twice as many as you had and with the most matured fan leaves still intact.

I don't know what I don't know so I'm willing to think out any possibilities......

I know the discussion will value some other noob someday (hopefully). I'm willing to look an ass if it helps learn. Getting clarification is appreciated.

There are benefits to removing plant material in the veg and flower stage. Growing indoors with artificial light isn't normal. So to me..somethings gotta give. You will experiment and find what works for you.
