Seriously,

Home Solar panels, some people believe its the future, and that all are roofs will be covered with them in the near future, ppl wanna make their own power with the cost today, installation, sales, maintenance, there is money to be made, trust me.

Thought of this and have been looking at all the possibilities. We have a wind generator salesman nearby, have asked about business. Unfortunately, as much as people would like to go green, save money etc with solar/wind, it takes money to set up. Hard time to be trying to do something like this. New homes would be a big source of sales, but no one's building these days.

I worked asa Project manager for a big company for 14 years, then my local Plant closed, so I opted for the MMJ biz. Never looked back.
There are plenty of ways to make a living in the MMJ biz.

This is looking more and more like an option or at least a secondary income (or main income with some stupid 9-5 being a secondary source). Just a scary thing right now, hard to put complete faith in.

I wld look into a trade school...especially one of those that help place you in a job after graduation. X-Ray Tech, Mechanic, etc....
Good luck bro....gotta be a bit scary starting over.

I wish there was a need for a golf or geocache instructor at some cushy resort or cruise ship...dream dream dream. LMAO

Went to the course to grab some more of my stuff (31 years or so of stuff there, have until end of month to get out)...it's hard to even look at the place, let alone imagine finding a new beginning. A hell of a lot of memories....

5am and I feel like I need a drink and a joint....glad I don't drink.

Roddy- Whatever you decide to do, I wish you well. I don't envy you starting on this journey at this point in your life, but then again, it could be the best thing that ever happened to you. Good luck!

You should be able to get a Pell grant. I was in my late 30ds when my life fell apart and I had to start over. I picked up trash at a ballpark and did nother janitorial work (that is always available) while I collected myself back together and decided what I could do. Keep your chin up and investigate all your possibilities. It is possible to start over later in life--it turned out to be a real positive thing in my life.

You MUST approach the biz like you would your last job my friend. You holding the same job for many years speaks alot about your work ethic, and that it is a great work ethic.
Growing pro takes all your time and efforts and alot of focus. Follow all your local and state rules, and jump on the train.
It takes folks with a professional mindset to prosper in this biz, and I think you have that.

If you choose to do it, put your all into it and you will be fine.

You write well Roddy. Why don't you plant a big crop, tend it, grow it -- and in the mean time sit down every day and write until you have put together a book. You do have an ability to get your point across, and who knows...

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I too went back to college at 40. I became a teacher -- I actually wouldn't recomend becoming a teacher, but there is no reason you can't get a degree in anything you are interested in.

I feel for ya buddy -- It's not the end of the world, but it is a real big deal...

Appreciate that, Hal, THANKS!

I've done volunteer work while I was unemployed just to keep myself busy so as to not think about my situation. It is also a good way of meeting people that may have job connections and your volunteer work would look favorable to someone looking to hire. I am now on permanant dissability and volunteer my time with NAMI (national association on mental illness) and facilatate group meeting for vets with ptsd and other issues. I've come across many oppertunities for employment while doing this but my condition won't allow it.

I decided to change careers in my late 30s and have been going back to school for 3 years now. I love it. It is alot of work but has its benefits. Sitting next to and becoming "friends" with 20 year old women is not a bad thing. Trust me on this. I wish Id have done this years ago. Depending on your financial situation grants and student loans are easier to come by than youd think. Fill out your FAFSA online. Google it. Then you can see what you qualify for. Good luck with whatever you decide.
