Hi everyone,
I'm a first time grower, found 1 seed in an oz of what I was told was freezeland. I made it sprout and decided to plant it in a jiffy cup with miracle grow seed starting soil. I am now 3 weeks in and I recently just transplanted it in a bigger pot with miracle grow potting soil mix. The plant is in. 2 foot high box covered in aluminum. I'm using a 42 watt CFL light and a pc fan for ventilation. I have a few pictures of the plant. I toped it after the third set of leaves.

Any input on the plants condition or any advice on how to proceed with my growing project???

Thanks,

Where are the pics?

Foil is a poor reflector of light--get rid of it and paint the box flat white. However, you are going to need a larger box. Two feet in height is really really hard to grow in. You are going to need way more light to finish the plant. Watch the plant closely for signs of hermie. How is your ventilation set up?

Hope you have a successfull grow..everything you will ever need to know is here...just need to look

take care and be safe:bolt::bong:

Welcome HB. Those plants will grow and like THG said you will need more space and more light. Starting reading all the info on this site.

I will eventually upgrade my box to something about 4 to 5 feet. I will also do the white paint instead of aluminum. I was also planning on using ,a sodium light for the flowering stage. Anyways, here are the pictures, im most curious about toping, pinching crping bending etc..I already toped it once and as you can see i now have 2 tops. When do i have to this again and how many times?

Hey Puffin ,

So youre suggesting pinching from now on since i have already toped my plant once? If so , around what time should i do this? I am currently in the 3 week of growing....Also by pinching, i can imagine the plant needing a space thats wide enough.

Im also curious about fertilizing, from what ive read, it seems to be better to use organic like blood or bone fertilizer??? I have also read that its better to leave the first inch or so of soil to be dry before re-watering.

Any advice is appreciated,

thx

Hey Harry,

I usually pinch when I see the fifth set of branching, especially if I am dealing with a Sativa. My box is just shy of being 7' foot tall, and 4' foot wide, 3.5' deep. I use a 400 watt HPS, and run 6" incoming to the lamp and 6" outgoing to cool the puppy. 3 gallon size dirt containers works great, and I always start with 4 growing, maybe lose one or two to being a male, but the other two will quickly fill the box.
After your initial pinch allow the plant to recover, then if desired you can pinch each new branch at the third site, but everyone is different, (Viva La difference).
Study the plant you have in soil by reading up on all that you can about it. Amending soil can be good, but remember to do your homework.
Many members of the white family, ie. White Widow, White Rhino, can be super sensitive to nitrogen, and will burn fast even though while the plant was in veg, it was doing so well.
The idea behind allowing the top inch, or so of soil to dry is multipurpose;

1. Wards off molds. (Aspirgillus)
2. Wards off little crawly's that want to munch on the plants roots when they are young and the roots are so close to the top of the soil. I also like to recommend that you turn up your topsoil to a depth of about 2.5" inches, Use your finger, and be super sensitive to roots, as you do not want to destroy them. The turning of the soil allows aeration, and discourages pests.

THG is right on about light and foil, and flat white paint. I couldn't have said it better.
Study, study, study, and you will reap in exactly what you hope to get, but you need to do the homework first, and yes we are here to help:icon_smile:
