So funny! We have dips in the temp here. I go to bed with all windows (30) open, then get up to sweaters, sweating by noon. This is life in a 100 year old house in Florida.

My pressure cooker is old school, also. My mom had it mastered. It still scares me.

Hubs used to cook over an oak fire. Elevated everything!

I haven't done sous vide, myself. I like a hard sear or char, but if you cook it, I will eat it.

First cardinal of the morning just started singing, 6:47 a.m. All my windows are open. Hearing a mourning dove in the background.

I am a foodie who mostly cooks at home. I am vicariously aware of the Portland food scene. You are a lucky man!

@Tattered Old Graywolf , you would think fresh seafood would be abundant throughout Florida. Not so unless you are on the coast. My nearest drive to fresh seafood is to Cedar Key, a real treat, especially for smoked mullet and oysters.

And I thought I was up early! Actually, I may be the earliest bird, up since 1:30! I just go with the natural flow. I don't stress about it anymore. I sleep when the body wants to sleep. Good morning!!!

Living in a major lake region, I get lots of osprey guano. Also have bats, owls, all kinds of hawks, eagles, cranes, egrets etc. as well as worms. That's why it is so tempting to use my yard dirt as potting soil. I am liking the plant wash suggestion. I also get regurgitation from the owls...

Even during the last nine years of his illness, looking back, we were in some kind of denial. He had two stem cell transplants. Well, I guess I should stop. I could go 'round and 'round in circles trying to figure things out. Here I am today.

My dirty little secret is that we were never legally married. Had my name on everything, so I at least own my home, my last stronghold. For some strange reason, we never got the legal marriage. Just plain dumb and thought we could live and work forever. Believe me, I have left no stone...
