I've heard of this study before, and I recall the survey being done by phone. I remember thinking that the classical music fans are probably just more likely to 'volunteer their time for a study'. Theses studies shouldn't be taken too seriously, even if it was set up get a 'random' selection of testers, 2500 people shouldn't be able to represent the general public.
More importantly, who the heck funded this, what kind of use would this information be to anyone?
