Germans... No doubt there... Especially VW and Audi... However I would say that Swedish cars are even more reliable.

I like Japanese. Toyota's do it for me, although I don't drive one.

Love my Golf; Honda & Toyota also make incredibly reliable vehicles.

I would have to go with German. I wonder which one is cheaper to maintain over the life of the car. The parts cost on some of the foreign cars is nuts.:holysheep:

german cars are also very expensive to fix some have to go to specialty places...here they will steal an audi or whatever they are called so fast my sisters friend had hers stripped for parts...I love my ford explorer! also check on insurance rates that what i do...my toyota avalon has also been great...my family has had great luck with toyota.

If I ever get the check engine light off my Volvo, I'll never own one of those expensive nightmares as long as I live. Had a Porsche once--never will again. Gimme something I can go to AutoZone and get a radiator cap for and don't have to mortgage my house to pay for it. Funnest car I ever owned--old rag top Vette.

hmmm I must be confused...the question was who makes a more reliable car and people answered something other than Japanese. European cars are not more reliable. I have yet to spend any money on my cars other than buying performance parts and routine maintenance supplies.

edit: corrected a missing word

I'd have to say the Germans build a more reliable car. But also much more expensive. The Japanese cars are maybe not quite as good as the Germans but more affordable both from the purchase aspect as well as the maintenance aspect. But I'm prejudiced towards Honda, but in their motorcycle venue. I've ridden nothing but Honda bikes my entire life. I have over 30,000 miles on my big ol' VTX1800 now, and not a single problem.

well I certainly wouldn't buy new from Government Motors right now (GM) could you imagine trying to get warranty work done if we had to rely on Uncle Sam?

To answer the original question.

German

they are masters at all machinery and engineering, and they have been for a very very long time.

I am a bimmer guy through and through...owned 3 m3's o er the years...70$ oil changes, bad cooling systems, expensive. .

The woman;) drives a corolla. She has changed the oil 6 times in 5 years! Really! I refuse to fix her inexpensive car because it's so cheap to maintain And my cars are 3x's as much 5 times as often!

It's got me thinking.... Who wants to buy a Bimmer???
