The plants in my garden a getting to tall. If I bend them over and tie them down, will the top grow toward the sun, or will it grow horizontally?

If you tie it down, the tip will continue to grow toward the sun as well as all the under growth. All you have to do is readjust the stake every few days to pull the plant further down, then you can counteract her growing up with putting the stake further away, thus tying her down further.

this way is called LST (Low Stress Training) im doing it on one of my plants right now. bend the top of the plant over and make sure the top is lower then some of the surrounding branchs. do this slowly over a couple days so the stress isnt to great on the plant and so the plant can adjust its stalk to being bent. the plant sends a horomone to the tallest part of the plant to encourage the most growth at its highest point, when u bend the top over the horomone then gets sent to the highest branchs, instead of one cola you'll have many. it doesnt increase the yield just makes ur plant more low key. they way i did it is i used sewing thread and a stake. find a node at the top and pull the string around it and pull it lightly to make the plant bend a little. tie the string to a stake and wait about a day then continue doing that until u want it as low as u want

hippy do u mean go 1/3 down from the top of the plant and then put ur string around?

LST does wonders....been doing this and my indy and sativa have responded very well

It sounds like these plants are already firmly in the ground but maybe for next time, there is a technique you can try.

When you go to plant them outdoors, plant them at a 45 degree angle instead of strait up and down. This makes tying down easier long the way and it get the side of the plant more light form the very beginning.

Thanks guys, tied them down yesterday. Wow what a difference today, they are looking good, and not as noticeable. Thanks again

>>>How abought tying down the lower branches so that all the lower baby >>>buds will bulk out???

the lower buds will not bulk out if you do this. mj has a horomone that it sends to the tallest part of the plant to make that part grow the most, the lower branches are not and will not be getting most of this horomone bc it is being sent to the other tallest branches. now if you were to tie down your new colas after doing lst for a while and make them lower than surrounding branchs that would work. you would have to work from the top down to make your lower branches the biggest might take a while though
