I recently got some help in a forum here and was wondering what to do next. My gurl is overcoming some ph lockout, and some of her leaf is fert burnt. Should i cut off the burnt leaf or will it regenerate. Its pretty burnt. But most of it is fine.

Well, the rule of thumb is if you take the leaf, and pull the opposite way it grows out of the stem, and it snaps of, it's ready to come off. But if there's resistance at all, leave it on there it's still giving the plant energy! If you have a lack of nitrogen leaf, pull it, it's just ******* off the plant. Hope that helps! :)

You don't ever pull leaves off your plant. You let them fall off by themselves.

that is true, but when you can put a little bit of weight on that leaf and it comes off with no pressure, it's then leeching on your plant. then i find it okay to pull it, but i don't really do it often, mine are outdoor so i don't really check them but every other day :)

Thanx Dewayne, There not ready to come off. the main vains on the bottoms off the burnt leaves still seem ok. I guess ill just wait to see.

Nope. A leaf never "leeches" off the plant but just the opposite. The plant will used all stored energy in the leaf then it will fall off.

Hmm, well from what i've read from many famous marijuana growers, it does leech off your plant, example being a nitrogen lacked leaf, completely yellow, it's "leeching" off your plant, well. like i said, so i read. I've seen it on a grow dvd too from a very recognizable marijuana grower. I could be wrong and maybe misunderstood, and i'll look into it, but if so i'm sorry ;) Thanks man, gives me something to do now haha. Peace man.

well guys for my understanding when some leaf is dying you cut the leaf cuzz your plant is putting all their effort to keep that leaf alive i know that every body say you shuld wait until it fall off but for me its just comun sence

Well, i agree you shouldn't ever take leaves off your plant, but i think when it gets to the point of how they said it's "leeching" i'd like to take care of that. So i would like to get this completely cleared up :) I dunno to be honest, i just thought that like when it's like nitrogen lacked, it's leeching, or i guess when it's really really getting tot he point of where it's dying. But i'll look it up, if anyone has any FACTS on this, input would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks.

once a leaf has experienced some type of necrosis or chlorosis the leaf material will never regenerate. And yellow patches normally stay yellow. The leaf wont' just go back to normal when you fix the problem. The place that you should be looking to make sure you have fixed your plants is at the new growth. Some minor yellowing will turn back green but it's rare for it to happen.

If the new growth is bright green and healthy then you have fixed the problem and are on your way back to a healthy plant. Damage can be caused in an instant but the plants can take weeks to get back to "normal" so to say.

Leaves don't leech from their plants but actually it's the other way around. The buds are swelling by using up the nutrients that is stored in the leaves. As the nitrogen is sapped from the leaf it yellows, and shrivels due to the K and P being sucked out of it. Then it falls..

There is NO reason to pull anything from your plant. Unless it's absolutely necessary, and really i can't think of a time cept maybe bud rot...
