Been a while since i've posted cuz its been a while since I had some beuties going but i'm about to start my 3rd grow with some ak-48 seeds and although my first 2 were near failure I still have decent knowledge on the topic. I'm just curious wether I should switch it for this time and maybe do a hydroponic grow. What are some of the general differences between the two and is one better then the other or is just preference. Any input to help me make my decision would be greatly appreciated.

Speaking from my experience, I'd say get comfortable with soil first, then maybe give hydro a good go. I think if you're having trouble with soil, hydro will probably be a nightmare.

Either way, goodluck :)

I am doing both DWC and soil right now and I wld hve to say they both hve their pros and cons.... the biggest thing I hve found out about DWC is if you grow a strain that tends to get large and bushy and you are using a multi DWC like my 4 pot system then things can get out of hand and it becomes unruly... at least with soil you can postion the pots as far apart as you want. Other then that DWC is quite easy... you just hve to monitor your PH closely...

i do both also. got an indica flushing now in dwc bucket. getting my out doors ready inside w/soil also. dwc is very easy if you have ppm, ph meter, ph up, down, air pump, and air stone. check it out in my sig...bb...

I've grown both, I'm currently at the end of my first hydro grow, and i am JUST NOW getting the hang of things. Maybe do DWC with 2 and soil with 2?

I started with hydro for my first grow (check my journal, im only 3 weeks in though), and ive had a few people come check it out that grow in soil. They are quite impressed with how fast mine are growing compared to theirs. But, it could also be that im running a 600w, and less plants than them.

Hydro isnt hard. I read everything I could, decided on a system, and built it all in the span of 2 weeks. Ive really dialed in the watering, and im only using 3gallons every 3 days, with only 1gal to waste, without any need to check ph after the initial mix.

Measure twice, cut once. If you read it all up, and it sounds easy enough/something youd be interested in, go for it I say.

I'm doing both DWC and soil right now, and the DWC definitely produces a bigger bushier version if done right.

DWC is a great way to go, just only if you are not lazy, because you need to change the water often.

But, you can run dwc @ 5.3 to 6.3 effectively.

Plus I hate to make this admission on here, but I dont even have a P.P.M. meter.......I just slowly adjusted my Nutes up, but I do change the water often (as the plant drinks a TON now thats it mature) and pay very close attention to the PH. I know to do a DWC properly one should have the ppm meter, I just havent gotten around to taking that drive to get one. But my plant is doing awesome thus far........
