ok, i gotta question and hopefully dont sound to much of a *******. my little set-up has a dual 48 inch floro on top, also on top is a 120 watt grow bulb...i also got white mylar on 3 sides, and 2 24" 75 watt grow floro's enclosing the open part. my theory is with the short grow lites and reflection off the mylar, will that help the sides get pumped up? i'm 5 days into flowering and trying to maximize the small amount of light i do have. come on pro's

Well you are flowering on flos so they wont be as dense. The mylar will help with reflection but you dont a significant amount of lumens so your hands are tied on what you can do. you must put the light SO close, they wont burn. No matter the setup the amount of lumens means everything

i would have to agree with sweetnugs on this use what yoou have for right now. if your using that screw in type of grow bulb you need to find something else to use its not the right light for the job stick witht the flouros

I've never seen "white mylar"..
flourescenta have little penetration power, tubes more than 6" from your plants recieve little, if "any" beneficial/useable light.

I think it cant hurt...I was thinking of runnin 4 ft tubes vertically all around my grow with my 430w HPS on top...use the orange tinted ones for flower...

You could put that same power to good use and get a 250-400 HPS and add it in there, You would be able to tell its doing some good.

I also agree with this, adding 8 60w tubes would be more expensive than another 430w...:hubba:

well, i did it. i bought an "adult sized" lite. 500W FLUOREX HIGH INTENSITY GROW LIGHT CFL HYDROPONIC off ebay and brand new...hopefully this does the trick. i changed stuff around a few days ago and at the second-6 3800 lumen 48 inch floro's on my flowering...for veggie stage i got 4 24" grow floro's and one "screw in" type grow bulb 120 watt. cant wait to get my new lite!!!!!

Watch out for Ebay and CFL manufacturers dude and there "wattage" statements. They mean "incadescent equivilant" which is no use to us growers. All we care about is lumen output, color temp, and actual wattages used.

I would start with a 430w HPS...plenty good enough for most shorter indoor varieties to grow in a 4x4 foot area...excellent for a closet with ventilation...
