Do high temperatures stunt ripening? My grow cabinet has been really hot for the past couple of weeks (86-91F or 30-33C).
Unfortunately there's little I can do about it because of the weather and the fact that the room's windows face the sun throughout the day.

They will grow in that high temp range but it can cause some issues.

Usually less heat and cheaper electric to boot in the evening hours. 18/6 I run darkness during the heat of the day. In flower I do the same.

I been running mine all summer 6-6am trying to a oid the day heat. It works. My highest temp has been 86. I can live with that temp as long as plenty of air is moving.

I dont use a tent, but my grow room is very hot and so it outside. If anything it speeds things up. The Sour vengeance they told me 10 weeks plus for flower, and they were done in 8 with amber trichomes. Fire weed too. I always use a scope now to be sure. Sometimes if I have caterpillars I will take a crop a week early but they have to al least all be milky white. Usually they have some amber just not 20-25 % like I want. That seems perfect for my needs. I will let one strain go longer to 50 % for my edibles to sleep at night.

The lamp is on 12/12 (5AM-5PM). Would the plant get affected much if I switched to 11PM-11AM in one day? By that I mean I'd shorten the dark period by 6 hours just once.

That's not going to hurt them.

Trichomes are still clear... Also, there appears to be some new growth on top of the biggest colas. Is it bad?

13th week of flower, trichomes are still clear. *sigh* Colas have very faint, dry smell.

How can I tell if it's too late to get anything out of this plant? I'm afraid it's getting too dry.

I don't think I've made any serious mistakes and the amount of bud is very satisfactory.

13wks is a long flower. Have ya noticed taken a sample yet?

That aroma will go away or greatly subside and you'll see them visually fade if over ripened. I'd sample her.

Looks great by the way. I love them knucklehead fottails.

Yeah, I know it's long. I took a sample about two weeks ago and let it dry for a week. I tried it and not only was it pretty weak, but it was almost exactly the same (smell and high wise) as my previous two grows (Gorilla Glue and Sour Durban).

It's a bit frustrating, to be honest. I'm inclined to believe that my BioBizz liquids are to blame since I used the same ones in all my grows. The only problem with this grow was the temperature, which was a bit too high in August. I didn't see any symptoms, though. The plant would just drink a lot more.

I think the faint smell I mentioned is from the dried remains of leaves that are stuck in colas. So the colas themselves don't really smell like anything.

Got nothing to lose. If it grows, great. If it dies, it dies. Weed is a weed, afterall. As long as they get food and light, they're pretty damned hardy.

That’s why, if you have to have someone tend your plants for a few days, you never ask them to weed your plants.

Both were exactly 4 months old when I cut them. I can't remember if I had a strong magnifying glass to inspect trichomes properly when I was growing the first one. I think both had some clearly visible ambers, but I'm not sure about the average transparency of the rest of 'em.

What surprises me is that all three plants smell similarly in flower phase. It's unlike the "stereotypical" sweet, slightly intoxicating smell.

They definitely loose aroma if pushed to far into flower. I notice that happening near the end of late flower. That blast of refer ya got when ya open a tent starts to weaken in intensity after 7 wks in. That's when I'm starting to look at trichomes.

Clear trichomes are always present. I think these plants never stop making them. But the majority will be cloudy and the ambers start to rolling daily.
