I growing a sativa outdoors in a large bin.The pistols are about 40 percent colored but their is not a lot of trichomes yet. They are begining to appear lightly. Is this normal behaviour of a sativa? I have stopped feeding her Jutes and leeches the soil today with lots of water and the last flush contained about 3 tablespoons of mollasses. The existing trichomes appear to be clear in appearance. Will more trichomes come or are there strains of sativa that don't produce as many. Sorry, no pics! I would like to know how long until harvest? I am guessing that there is at least 12 ounces on her now! She is a good looked for sure. She was started from seed the last week of May. She is five feet tall.

From what you're telling us, I'd say your plants are not finished yet. First, using the old school method of determining ripeness, your buds aren't ripe until about 75%-80% of the pistils have turned brown (red) and shriveled up. The new school method is to look at the trichomes. Your trichs are mostly clear, not ready to harvest. A lot of people prefer to harvest when all the trichs are cloudy. For a heavier stone with body high as well as cerebral high, it is good to wait until 80% of the trichomes are cloudy, and the other 20% are amber in color.

Your buds aren't ready yet.

You will probably have to go till frost for a sativa.Plus,I'm not real sure but I think you want to add molasses at the beginning of flowering and not in the flush because the sugar in your plant will burn harsh.

:farm: I grow a long flowering-cycle sativa, She doesnt start with trichs until week 3 and they build clear thru harvest at week 15-16. My plant looks ready to harvest at week 10, but the trichs are still clear and I must wait 4-5 more weeks for the amber ;)

:watchplant: Trichs are what get you high, keep an eye on them and you will be rewarded :hubba:

3 tablespoons per gallon is delicious.
Warm the water so the molasses will dissolve better.

Sorry, didn't see you are already feeding that. It shouldn't burn, just don't feed it every feeding. I do it once maybe twice a week.

I do warm the water and give her the molasses. I am maybe 2 weeks away from harvest now so I will stop her feedings of all nutes and just stick with the molasses.
It's fun to grow weed!!! I get really anxious this time of year waiting for the treat that awaits!

I'm into 5 weeks of flowering for my sativa, getting alot of trich showing now, so you still have alot of time left yet till harvest. If your are just showing that is. I figure i still have 5-6 weeks left till i can harvest.
