I have purchased a blue, red, and green cfl for decorative uses when toking up but I have, in the past, read that blue and red are what mj plants use most effectively when growing. Would anybody know if these blue and red coated bulbs will have any positive effects? They are probably around 800-950 lumens, 13 watts.

Highly doubt it, the red they are talking about is spectrum red, not painted cfl red

I figured they would be useless for growing. Any confirmation on this?

you need at lot more lumens then that. Youd need quite a few of those to grow anything at all.

Assuming I foolishly didn't add any other lighting... These would (if they were remotely useful) be powered in conjunction with the main lighting with hope they would benefit the growth positively using the specialized color they emit. It is doubtful they are the correct color spectrum even though they emit the color to the human eye.

well I am not 100% on this but I think that those bulbs wouldn't help at all the kind of light you are talking about is the spectrum and what you have is just painted on. I would just stick with you warm, cool, and daylight cfls if that is the kind of light yuo choose to grow with.

KEEP IT REAL
