Hey there everyone! So starting tomorrow, i'm getting the last bit of supplies I need and all the clones and we are gettin them up an growin! But, my question is about the sanitizing of the room. I usually and everyone else I know, uses just hot water and bleach. But i'm worried about the ducting tape getting ruined and falling off. Either way most likley am not gonna use hot water an bleach unless you guys so otherwise. I had some 409 around and figured that might be good with sanitizing, as long as i wiped down very well with plain hot water after. Will this be fine? Or is hot water and bleach the best way? Thanks

Yo Ho Ho N,

Your not really worried about any stray pollen cause that would have died off already, but the bleach is great for killing spores from mold, and assorted fungi.

The hot water has a good ability to open pores in items that a growbox is possibly constructed from such as wood, and vinyl. Any critters hibernating in hard to get at spots will likely die just from the exposure to the bleach gases, and I would just lightly sponge around any duct tape...

Just my $0.02

I like bleach and water. I am not sure why you think that the 409 will be any easier on your duct tape. I would do like KK recommends and spray a bleach/water mix on your sponge and lightly clean.

LOL! Good point THG, and thanks KING! Good info, so, i guess it's hot water and bleach.

bleach and water works great---when you using that solution it will also be a great time to test the air exchange for your room---it is not a good idea to use hard core cleaning products like this in closed areas---you need ventilation

Yo Ho Ho N,

Hey thanks for that positive note there THG, I love it when we talk grow, grow, grow......LOL

I applaud anyone who is thinking along the lines keeping their grow place healthy. To keep things interesting one might even consider filtering the air that you allow to go into the grow box as I do. In this fashion my box has a very positive air-pressure in it, so that if I need to open the door to it, it remains pollutant free.

It is in this fashion that I have removed the chances of mold, fungus, and yeppers even critters who want so desperately to come inside.

Lots to learn here from some of these tremendously good growers. Consider your careful investments as per your grow area, and then ask yourself what you really want. Truth is, it does take some of your energy to make it all happen, and if you want the shazzang, then you gotta put out from yourself to have it...

Hope you meant luke warm water. Hot water will make bleach in-effective. As far as cleaning. I just sweep and vacumn. Never wiped down walls and such.

And Floromite is for the plants not the walls, right nouvellechef, LOL

If it makes you feel better. Spray it all. The tiny 1oz bottle will last a very very long time. I have no idea how many i have sprayed. I just sprayed last night and the bottle still has about 60% left.
