Doesn't surprise me at all. California is not the California I use to know. My Father died when I was 11yrs old. We lived right outside Bakersfield California. California was a beautiful place with great ppl. Now it's run by morons that are running it into the fking ground. I've lived all over California as a kid.
We were from Texas but had family there. My dad loved to wonder.
Not me. I don't like moving. I'll stay my as right here in Texas where I belong.

we moved to Southern California in the late 50’s and i got to live out the 60’s in the Valley , Hollywood , and then there was my hitchhiking years to Big Sur and back

weed was $10 bucks a lid , real lsd $2-3 bucks a tab , raw peyote buttons $1 dollar each , free love at the love-ins , and the Doors playing at my high school..

I used to love to visit Cali. Our corporate headquarters was near SF. Was a beautiful city. An outright shame what has happened. I doubt if I will ever go there again. Sad.

I was born near Ft Leonard Wood. Glad I was never stationed there. Good fishing but to hot for Basic......yuk.

I was lucky. Basic at Ft Ord and did the other 18 months at Ft Carson in Colo about 90 miles south of here. I have heard Ft Polk was the worst.
