thinkin things over for this yr. plans and such for a good season:hubba:

when are u starting your seeds ?
under flo's, 24/0 or 18/6 ?

when do u move outdoors if started indoors ?

i dont want to make last yrs mistake - started tooo early.
started in paper towel, moved to foam cup with good mix.
kept under 4' flo light 2 bulb 24/0 hrs
should went 18/6
good germ rate, and plants were pretty.
most showed sex shortly after putting in holes with good soil mix outdoors.
good side - allowed to pull males quickly, bad side - females revegged

first where are you? i'm in the mountains, and we can't start until mid-late june. you said you started too early last year. when was that?

starting from seeds or clones?

18/6 will save you some money on the electrical bill, and some might argue, but the 6 dark (i've heard) helps stimulate growth hormones in the plant during veg. I'm not going to say one way or another...it's really your call IMO.

foam cup is going to get you only a week or so, again IMO. try starting with something just a little larger, maybe triple that size.

i took clones today and plan to put them out mid march depending on the weather. im in the south so it will depend on your location. when the temps at night stay over 45 i'll put plants out. this is just how i do it. alot of ppl won't plant outdoors till the full moon of the spring.

i started from seed indoors under flos about this time, moved out in april sometime.
this yr, 18/6 and will move out sometime in may.

I start mine indoors under a 250 watt HPS, 24/0, in mid march in 4" nursery pots. I'll pot up once to 6 peat pots. In mid may I move mine out to my sun porch, on the shady side so they can get accustomed to real sun, for 2-3 weeks depending on how the weather is, then move to my outdoor spot (ammended beforehand) and plant, peat pot and all.

This is a fallacy. While some plants may need a dark period, marijuana is not one of them. Marijuana will GROW (different than stretch) all the time the lights are on. Running your lights 18/6 only lengthens your veg period and causes stretch--in general. If you are trying to get indoor plants accustomed to the outside light schedule, your light schedule should be similar to the daylight hours where you live.

and when moveing plants from indoor lights to the Sun..you wanna aclumate them..I start putting plants outside in Mid April here..Im in Seattle west coast..I like to place them in the shade and not direct sunlight right off...I run My veg area lights 24/0..I have a lot of strains and this does help on the Stretch...Ive ran both 18/6 and 24/0..the stretch isnt there when Running 24/0...untill they go into flower room...Hope this helps..Take care and be safe

i start indoors in feb.
lights on for 24/0 as i too noticed the difference in stretching to be longer if there is a dark period.

in april i will move them outdoors from then on its usually pretty smooth sailing until the deer and rabbits cum around.

this year im ready for them also. while they are young a lot of hungry monsters out there will be after your babes if you are in a woodsy area.

ive run 24/0 for 2 years :)

my veg room couldnt be happier, you be the judge

also if you want to go from indoor out. 24/0 is better because they do not have a starting point for the dark period.

If you want to be weeks ahead of the LEO or the "jackers", switch them for 2-3 weeks under floro's. It wont hurt them, they will make it up in last 5-8 weeks under the sun. I just did this and it came out great.
