This is my first grow journal so we'll see how it goes.
I am Growing 2 purple kush in a cpu case I have 5400 Lumens admitted from Cfls, 2 cpu exhaust fans 1 5x5x1 intake fan from a space heater that is hooked up to a dimmer switch to control the speed. The case is lined with Tin Foil, And im growing in 2 16.9 oz propel bottles on there sides with 1/2 inch holes drilled in it for the plant.

I have one a little over an inch and a half tall and another one that I just put in to sprout tonight do to getting the seed late. I plan on switching to 12/12 at about 6 inches tall.

I don't have pictures but plan to within the next week. any advice would be helpful thanks in advance.

Well Im trying to figure out a way to lower the temps alot.
Got a temp gauge and it is 105f in there so pretty much a little oven so i need to get some ducting or something in there.
I will repost when this is no longer a problem

the air you bring in will need to be cooler. remember...the coolest spot in a home is the floor near a window. Keep your "tower" close to the floor and near a window.
If you can...try this. Put the tower near a window beside the drapes that go all the way to the floor. Run the small ducting out the side of the tower and up in the drapes to the bottom of the window just short of the ledge. MAKE A U SHAPE AND BEND IT BACK DOWN TO PREVENT LIGHT LEAKAGE. This will allow you to draw fresh cool air and still be stealthy. Also, a small fan facing the tower from the outside blowing on it will allow the air around the outside of the tower to flow. stagnet air is warm air. Flowing air lowers the temp around the tower. allowing heat to escape the area creats a cooler environment allowing for more heat to escape from the walls of the tower naturaly. Another thought... Make sure your intake is not so close to your exaust that you are sucking back in the hot air you just expelled. Also, put a humidifier in the room near the intake so the air is cool and moist. BUT NOT TOO MOIST!!

Moisture + heat = MOLD
moisture + environment = BUGS
Good humidity + good temps = Less watering and better plants

You want humidity in there but not moisture.

Last but not least....
The best advice I have for you is to convert a dresser!!
Use the tower for cuts and veg with a cfl.
Use the dresser and 3 gal. buckets to flower the same 3 plants under 400w hps digital. Build the the dresser loke the tower but do what I said earlyer about a fan in the room, use a window with drapes for intake and add a humidifier. Run your 12 on for flower in the daylight so you dont have to cover the window. If light is a huge deal, use MH instead of HPS...its a little easyer to blend in.

Flowering in a tower will give you many problems like root bound, stress on plants and they turn hermie or male and for what?? A GRAM or two of smoke....
A dresser can get you up to 3 oz's or more and WAY less complications.

Just remember FIRE!! build everything with caution and remember that there is a fire risk. Even in a tower grow!!

GOOD LUCK!! And post a pic or two!

Hope this helps.

i would get rid of the tin foil my friend.it is not that reflective as you would think and it causes hot spots also.

Get rid of the foil.
tinfoil is only about 60% reflective
White paint (flat) can be upto 98% reflective

now get this:

$2.99 emergency space blankets are 98% reflective and are cheap and easy to use. School glue a nd a few blankets a nd you can do almost a whole bedroom for $20.00, one will doe your tower just fine.

Well good news i got the temps down it did a little damage to the plant not much a little curling and a tiny bit of yellow on the tip of one leaf.
But it's under control now and is growing much faster. Sorry for not haveing pics up yet i haven't got around to getting a camera.
The seed i had which was going to be number 2 didn't germ so I need to get another seed and give her 1 more shot.
