when should you start dropping seeds in soil? what month should i start planting outside?

I'm about to drop seeds that I'll vegg under MH till spring when I can drop them in the ground. That'll be in like April, prolly late april. Gonna have to leave them outside in the pots for a week to harden off before put into soil prolly.
