I am in the process of remodeling my outdoor shed into a grow room. The shed is 7 feet deep, 5 feet tall and 6 feet wide (42sq feet). My goal is both quality and yield, but am only able to run somewhere around 600-650 watts of HID lighting. I already have a 150w HPS light from a past grow, which I would like to use in the shed. My original idea was to buy two 250w HPS ballast kits from HTGSupply (http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=45719) and using the 150w HPS which I already own for the grow. I am also thinking about getting a 400w HPS, but I am worried about the limited space coverage. What are your suggestions?

Go to insidesun.com you can get a 400 watt hps for $100 or a 1000watt metal halide for $150 you want HPS for flowering though

I am not able to use that many watts. I am very worried about my electricity bill, and am trying to keep it as low as possible.

You will need at least 2k of light to cover that much area sufficiently. I would say make your grow room about 4 feet by 4 feet and 7 feet tall. 800 watts would cover that well enough. Just buy a 600 watt hps and you should get great results from that. I guess you could grow around 6-8 ladies to about 3-4 feet tall with that much area and light. Just my thoughts. Keep us posted on what you decide to do. Take care and be safe.

and, do you ahhhh... already have power run out to this shed?

if so, by what method, and how much power do you have run out there?
