ok so i figure today i would get a little start on my supplies...heres wat i have so far...sorry for the pics
IMAGE_048.jpg
two four in fans,intake exhaust
IMAGE_052.jpg
to three inch 90% pvc pipes, intake exhaust
IMAGE_054.jpg
aluminum foil and duct tape
IMAGE_059.jpg
6 pots with plastic plates in the inside for soil
IMAGE_062.jpg
temperature thingy that has humidity on it too
IMAGE_065.jpg

IMAGE_067.jpgand finally just a glance at wat i think its supposed to look like

im confused about the foil, some say dont use it,some say do.i am still trying to figure out which lights and soil to get.i was thinking i could cut a 3inch hole on each side of the container for intake and exhaust.on fan facing out for exhaust and the facing in for intake right?here is a list of things that i need u guys help with deciding...

IMAGE_035.jpgthese lights may end up being my choice,i just have to find the lamps for em

IMAGE_034.jpgthese are some long thin lights,i have to find out lumens.which is better u think?

IMAGE_037.jpghere is a lamp timer.this interests me becuz im still tryna figure out which lighting is best...24 hours light?or 16-18 hours light and the rest dark..wat u guys and gals think??

what are you using aluminum foil for??

reflecting light??

Foil isn't a good reflector, but worse of all, creates hot spots.
hot spots can get hot enough to start a fire..

just a FYI.

and the 90% pvc pipe is good. But I would recommend using, bendable
venting tubing (kind that stretches and able to bend any direction), it
makes life alot easier down the road.

The most important thing on your set up are #1 lights #2 soil.
If you have to skimp on other things to get better lights and soil. Do it.

Last but not least. Start with pots that you can start and end with.
I would recommend 13quart pots. not only can you start and fi nish in them,
they fit perfectly over a 5 gallon bucket, for flushing and heavy watering
and or water feeding from the bottom.

Goodluck.

yeah but im growing them in that container, those pots seem to be cool.u r right, soil and light are the most important thing.and that seems wat im havng trubble wit.also wat do u think of the light timer??

Make sure the timer is heavy duty, and if you can a dual outlet.
Eventually with the lights, humidifier, fans and etc etc etc.
you runout of outlets fast. And big timers usually take up 2/3 slots
on a surge protector. Depending on your lights, some can draw
enough current to melt some timers.

if space is tight and you plan on micro growing.

check out Brother Grunts 16oz cup grows,
May be more of your liking. If anything you can learn
what to and not to do, from them.. Like watering, lighting, nutes and
bunch of other stuff.

hot spots can start fires ,,, goood call on that one

ok ok i see,but i still need to know,in u guys opinion which lights are better?the long thin ones?or the spiral ones?or does it not matter, its more about how much light they put out.also soil, wats the best choice?

use the spiral, you should use the 6500k for better veg-2700k for flowering the more lumens you get better 4 your plants, get some foxfarm products if u can(soil-nutes)

6 pots with plastic plates in the inside for soil
not sure what this is about either...but your pots need to drain. I don't belive those plates are needed.
Save the foil for the BBQ...flat white paint is a superior refledtor.

ok,i wasthinkin that i coulkd go without the pvc pipes.i could use the passive intake/active exhaust method.cut a hole near the bottom, put a fan near the top to blow out the air,and stick the whole container in my closet.its dark in there so i dont have to worry about light gettin in.am i right about this ideas?

Thats basically what im doin, and it seems to be working ok

Yea look at Brother Grunts 16oz cup grow. I have done this before and it worked well. You can grow in them for some time and easy to trans plant into some thing bigger. But as some one said it is the best to start your grow in a pot that you will end your grow in. But it is not always need its just the easy way. With the 16oz cups its just a hassle trans planting how ever many you use.

The timer is fine looks like mine what I did is just bought a three way and pluged it in the timer. But am growing in a drop system so I need way more outlets. If you need help on anything else you can ask me anything and look around the site, you can find answers to just about any question you may have.

Happy growing

today im going to look for the mylar,i guess i could get ir from home depot.then imma get some miracle grow potting mix i guess.
