well, in the never ending pursuit of simplicity (and finding ways to be more lazy) i have decided to go the dwc route, built some buckets, veg room and in the next few weeks when i take a few cuttings, i should be well on my way to hydro growth, hope its easier to deal with, because im not that fond of soil! here are some pics for now, prepare to drool!!!! j/k

This will be a Scrog adventure as well guys, should be good!

LOL--You are going to love DWC. It is indeed simple, but IMO, it is a more intimate way of growing. Your girls will demand certain things--you absolutely need to control your pH and ppms (but they will reward you with fast, sometimes phenomenal, growth). I am doing my first SCROG. This may be something that I grow very fond of. I like the way my SCROG'd girls are looking and I am still about 6 weeks out. Keep us all updated.

i know, everyone keeps telling me that! fine fine i will, gosh! j/k yeah, cant wait for the dwc scrog, i would love to see pics of yours, keep us posted as well, oh and i may be having some ppm questions, i have a 200 dollar hanna ph meter that measures ec/tds, just never used that function yet, but i will, just gotta get the run down on what exactly ppm is, i know what parts per million means.

So i guess, if i give my normal dose of nutes and they respond well at say theoretically 500 ppm, then after a few days, i check and the ppm is about 400 and the water is low. Would i just add nutes until the ppm is back to 500 and ph the water to get it back to where i want it?

So i guess, if i give my normal dose of nutes and they respond well at say theoretically 500 ppm, then after a few days, i check and the ppm is about 400 and the water is low. Would i just add nutes until the ppm is back to 500 and ph the water to get it back to where i want it?

LOL--If you know what parts per million means, you know what PPM means.

Okay, second paragraph--you can handle this in different ways. Some people just top up their reservoirs with pH nuted water. Some people just top up the reservoir with pH'd plain water and do a reservoir change periodically. I do the latter. I change out my res every 7-10 days (depending on my work schedule. In between times, if the water gets low I top up with plain pH'd water. Some people never change their reservoirs--they just add nuted pH'd water when needed. I am of the mind that plants uptake different nutes in different proportions. I change the res out completely to give my girls a full dose of all they may need. Just me, others do it differently with good results. There are a lot of asp[ects of this growing thing that just boil down to personal preference--and that is a good thing. How boring this word would be if we were all alike.

yeah, thats what i was thinking based on what ive researched, but hg, i will be changing the res every week in each bucket, that way i dont have to fool with monitoring my ppms as much, btw, if you have to add water to the res because of consumption, do you just add water to top it off and then adjust your ph, or do you just ph the water then put it in the res? im sure i will figure all this out, but i heard you dont want to go from like a ph of 5.3 one minute, then top off and have your ph at 5.7, i heard the swing is too much for the plant to handle, but what do i know!

I think you could have bought 2 sheets of drywall and have your box blend in with the rest of the room.

i needed to be able to move the box, thats why i built it like this, but funny thing, i did consider drywall for a veg/flower room. but this veg/flower chamber cost me about 75 bucks in parts, and i have enough to make two of them, which im in the process of doing.

hey Jbonez... you got some pretty plants.. I would consider you to try massproducer's clone bubbler.. its so easy.... I did went though heck of time creating other stuff with it.. but I end up going same way as massproducer.. just airstone, fill the water to top.. aqua temp to get water tempture right..not cold/not warm.. that it.. you are all set... I change my rez 2 week.. some of people don't change until last 2 week of harvest... that it.. pretty simple..and amaze quick growing, I'm thinking about get 20 of DWC and endless harvest..

one step ahead of you! i built that too! Except instead of the tubing inserted into the lid to hold the clones in place, i cut out holes to use eazyclone inserts to hold them in place, i also bought a propagation dome and starter plugs to try that at the same time with a heating pad, that way i can see which way is more effective for me.
