Newbie sexual question :)

Hello gang, sorry to ask this question but I am sure instead of guessing you guys can tell me quickly by just looking the pictures if they are female or male plants. I think I know but want to make sure.

I started doing research after I decided to play around and throw some seeds in a pot. 2 of the 3 seeds germinated. They are 2 months old now. I am sure that there is so much to learn and slowly I've been doing so. Today I went out (they are growing outside in pot day and night before darkness period to bring them inside) and to my surprise I saw they are flowering all over the place (I already took 4 clones of the plant).

I will read more (especially now) but my emergency questions are as follow:

1. Are they male or female? (I know I have 50/50 chance on each but what the odds of having them both same sex?) BTW: Both have the same flowering.

2. The plants were kept outside, so I will say they were getting almost 11 hours of bright sunlight. Now that they are flowering, do I bring them inside (I have prepared a 100% dark room for them but no lights) and for how long do I keep them there. I read the 12/12 but in this case I do not have the light equipment, so how long do I bring them out to the light, for how long and do I bring them completely out in direct sun or just open the door and let some light come in the room?

As I said gang, I know I have much to learn but this is like an emergency question as it caught me by surprise (the flowering I mean).

As far as the light cycle, why not keep them outside 24/7 until you get lights? Unless the temperatures drop to frosting levels where you live, it won't make much of a difference indoors or out.

Once you get a complete growroom constructed, however, its pretty obvious that you should follow the natural order of things.

Thanks liermam, I thought about that with two exceptions: and they are: The raining season it's almost here and where the pot is outside is completely expose to the elements and being the first one, I don't want the elements including pest to attack my girls. The second one is that the plant as it is right now 12" tall and very thick and I don't want anyone to see if from the outside.

Is it possible to keep the plants in a dark room for let say 18 hours and put them out in the "natural" light for 6 hours. Does it have to be direct sunlight or can it be just the light coming into the house from the windows?

here's what I suggest... you shouldn't be putting them outside at all... but if that's all you can do to get the light, yer screwed...

at any case... while flowering, you MUST have a 12/12 schedule (or there abouts... as long as it is consistant... however, longer than a 12hr lights on schedule will make your flowering period longer)

now... if I were you... I would set up an unbrella or some kind of covering over the plant if it can get rained on more than u'd like... it likes to dry out in between waterings... of course, you'd have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't dry out....

and... I'm sorry Lierman, but it does make a difference... especially due to the fact that days are getting longer... the lighting schedule HAS TO REMAIN CONSISTANT or else the plant will go back into veg because the days are increasing...

I currently have many plants in front of the window vegging... a couple tried to start flowering because of the lighting schedule, but have converted back into veg because of the lighting schedule, so I know for a fact that they will go back into veg if you don't continue the scheduled dark cycle. I wouldn't put them outside any more if you are flowering currently... continue to do what you are doing, but I would leave them inside to finish flowering (put in front of a southern exposure window).

the only prob with this is... when the plant is in flower mode, moving/jostling it will decrease yeild... you are shocking it every time you disturb/move it.

if you have to move yer girl while in flower, do it slowly and gently. In veg, it isn't a problem... you could throw the plant against a wall while in veg, and it will still grow... but if you disturb it during flower, you are minimizing yield....

I hate this.. when I start explaining things, I forget what the Hell I was thinking in the first place ...

vancouver, thanks for the suggestions. The only question I have is this, ok, the plant is inside in a dark room, if I open the door the brightness of daylight will come in the room, is that enough light? And I will keep opening the door for 11 hours of daylight per day and then dark. Right? Ok men, thanks for the help.

Okay, this is what I am doing. The window closest to the room faces the north, plus the room have a regular light. I will open the door during the daylight hours and turn the light on and close the door around 6PM so it is complete darkness. Trial and error for now. So I will let you know what happens. So far looks pretty good, the only thing is the smell. WOW, the whole room smells like I want to move into that room permanently.
