One of the best things to have for this hobby of growing is completely free, and is likely the most valuable thing a new grower needs.
You can't go buy it, it has to come naturally. PATIENCE. Forget the newby approach of "OK, I'm going to grow, so I must incorporate every known method, product and technique in the book." Warning will Robinson, this is a recipe for low yield survivors. Forget all this and just grow
simply.
Here's an example. 2x4 tent, 6" infinity fan and filter. 3 100 watt panels (from the wall) or whatever 300 watt package you like, my choice for this? Mars Hydro SP 3000. For this experiment, I used 3 Phlizon 1000 LED panel, about 100 watts each, right now, 79 bucks each on ebay. SP 3000 better? Yes, but keeping it simple, and cheap. I veg 24 hrs.
Dirt? Ocean Forest. Yes, there are others, but this works.
Kept nutes simple for this one, NUKEHEADS. Two jars, one veg, one flower. In retrospect, if 4 weeks is enough veg, just get the flower, OF will carry you through 4 weeks. If dark green, dial back nutes, if yellowish, dial up. Simple.
Genetics: OG Kush
Typical heat: 76-83 F. Typical RH: 45-65
Veg 4 weeks total, topped at 6th node down to 3rd, remove shoots and growth below. Top again. 12/12 8-9 weeks.
Yield 10 oz manicured.
Can it be better? Oh yes indeed it can be! I figured a properly run 2x4 should yield a pound, so I'm a little light. 4x4 should bring 2 lbs.
BUT: I see much much worse results regularly. This is an example of inexpensive tent, Mars Hydro, inexpensive lights, 3 Phlizon 1000 LED panels, easy to source dirt, Ocean Forest, and easy simple nute regime. Tent less than 100 on sale, lights $79 bucks x3, dirt and pots 45 bucks, Nutes 30-45 bucks.
Under 450, 10 oz result. Again, far from astounding, but good decent yield. Most important, with a little patience, anyone can replicate this simply.
