i found this bit of info and was wounderingf if it is correct i dont under stand the fewer light hours any info would be great:)

A few very helpful tips
A higher nitrogen concentration will give more females.
A higher potassium concentration will give more males.
A higher humidity will give more females.
A lower temperature will give more females.
More blue light will give more females.
Fewer hours of light will give more females. It is important to start these changes at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks, before reverting to standard conditions.

i sprout/veg under 24hrs and i always get a 4:1 female/male ratio. i might agree with the "blue light gives more females" statement though but it should say that floro vegging gives more females...atleast that's been my experience.

Fewer light hours would mean that you use an 18/6 vegging light schedule rather than a 24/7 light schedule.

I have found that the less stress a plant goes through in it's first 4 weeks the greater chance you have of getting a female ... I try to just keep everything stable as possible ... Maybe it's just me but everytime i have a plant that has issues within the first month it always turns out to be a dude ... I just try and keep them happy , fed , & close to the light as possible (so as to keep them from stretching). Works for me ....

Rudebwoy, I think we're talking about two different things here. The original post, as I understand it, is about how to get a female plant to produce more female seed.
Once a seed is made, it cannot 'turn' into the other sex. A plant is either male of female.
