i decided it would be fun to try and grow the seeds that were building up in my car from various bags of pot i've had over the past few months. i spent 10 dollars on a four foot fluorescent plant/aquarium tube. i started with 10-12 seeds and got about 9 to germinate. i planted the best 7, and some started to come through the soil very quickly. since i wasn't very serious about it when i started, i just bought a $3 bag of potting soil from a grocery store and used some plastic cups. i have no reflective material except for some aluminum foil, and i only have that one light. so 1 of the sprouts never came through the soil. then my parents found my grow op and took my light, accidentally knocking one plant over. it didn't make it. i got them to agree to let me grow the plants on the terms that i will not be selling them, so i have my light back and they've been growing about 2 1/2 weeks. my stepdad works at an electric supply company and he can get me an hps light around 70-100 watts. i realize that this is not enough light for 5 plants, but i'm not going to get 5 females. hopefully 2. would 70-100 watts hps good for flowering two small sized plants?
they're also under 24 hrs light, with a fan blowing on them. i pinched the stems many times, now they're growing very thick and strong, so i'm happy. they had a growth spurt this weekend. =]
if the plants go hermaphrodite because they are bagseed, will it produce buds with seeds? thanks. here's some pictures i took tonight.

Sup man!

100 watt sodium would be alright; careful with the heat!

If you get a hermaphrodite DESTROY it immediately!

thanks man!
i guess it's not so bad, considering i spent $13 on supplies and got these seeds out of some random bags i've had. all i've been giving them is tap water. no money for a pH tester, or a thermometer/hygrometer, so i'm just wingin it.
someone send me a fem'd seed! haha. i want to grow a strain where i'll know what it is, even if it's only one seed. i don't want to risk ordering them online..

question concerning seeds guys! i live in a small town where i feel like the police would catch on if i had a blank envelope coming in from holland. would it be a better idea to order from a company in the UK to deliver to the states? thanks!

oh, and is it okay to pluck off some unhealthy looking leaves at the bottom of my plants? the reason i'm asking is because of the stress factor, i was wondering if it'd be too much stress. my plants are coming up on 4 weeks old now!! =D

hey mike1245 babies are looking good :tokie:,,,,,
some sites in the uk dont deliver to the states so you will have to look around :peace:
not sure about taking lower leaves off ,,still learning :giggle:

I wouldent worry about small town cops catching you with a envelope, besides i dont think having MJ seeds is illegal, Only to germinate them? :)

The plants are looking pretty good so far. I would definitely get as much light as you can for those babies. I bought a 150 watt hps and its actually pretty nice. It came with a piece of tempered glass which cuts down on the heat it emits. I can put the light within 3 inches of the plant tops without burning the tops.

I would just leave those leaves on there and take them out of the container when they fall off of the plant. It won't hurt them any. Also, you need to transplant those babies ASAP. They are rootbound in those containers. I also use dixie cups to sprout my babies and I only leave them in there for about 10-14 days and then transplant. Mine are always rootbound after 2 weeks. I would put them in at least 2 gallon containers if possible. A fan blowing on the plants helps to strengthen the plant stems too.

Keep us posted on your progress. I wish you the best of luck. Take care and be safe. << Definitely be safe. You have to consider the well-being of your parents also. Just my thoughts.
