ok so its time for me to buy my lights. i want two lights of the same wattage. my question is what will work the best to yield the most in the least amount of time. is it worth the expense of getting ballasts that work with both and two whole sets of bulbs so i can use MH during veg and HPS during flowering??

should i

a)buy one mh and one hps
b)buy two hps
c)spend the extra money and have two whole sets

also what is the best style reflector for using two lamps in the same grow space? what is the ideal replacement? the whole space is coated with mylar

MH bulbs are great for vegging because they stimulate healthy strong vigorous growth... Strong stems for example. The HPS simulates the autumn sun and helps pack on the weight. I use T5 fluorescents because I have had a bad experience with HIDs but I always use a mix of the blue and red spectrum for all stages of growth. Using the blue spectrum in flowering in conjunction with the red spectrum yields heavy frosty buds... for me anyways
