If you tie down your plants. We all know the main reaches the edges of the container and has to go vertical. When it gets to the edge slowly turn it left or right and retie. You're gonna have to keep bending it and it forms a circle keeping your plant nice and flat. Follow the red line in picture

Your canopy will stay more uniform and flat longer meaning bigger buds on other branches
 
I am only growing one plant this time. So, I can pay more attention to LST.
 
Manipulate Apical Dominance to achieve multiple colas instead of one. I like this approach, I use it often. Many ways to LST (low stress training) on a plant. Some good tutorials out there for different techniques. You can go basic or go big if you don't mind extended vegging time.
