I have about 12 square feet of growing room in a small cabinet space. Enough room to grow out 8 lowryders. Im wondering what direction i should go for lighting.

I was considering several high output 55W Spiral CFL Lamps, each put out around 3000 Lumens each.

I was also looking at purchaing two to four 75 watt HPS Lamps. It is a reletively small space so i dont wanna have to worry about heating issues.

Im also not looking to spend more than $200 on lighting.

Im not sure if Autoflowering plants need a lamp with red and yellows in the color spectrum.

Do i need to use a certain color spectrum for vegging and a different spectrum for flowering when growing autoflowering plants like lowryders?

Lemme know what yall would do. Ide like to do spend a little extra time and effort doing it right.

:)

Anyone know where i can get a 400 watt HPS/MH conversion bulb grow light for under $200 with an inline, aircooled reflector hood?

for the 400 watt under 200 bucks, keep checking ebay is all i can figure. as for the small space, with the power and heat issues, i'm making up a "lighting board", its posted under http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/showthread.php?p=164513#post164513
i'm waiting on opinions about it, it aint costing much to build, heat wont be a problem, and barely any heat...just an idea, but not assuming responsibility enough to say a great idea...yet.

Im leaning towards a 4 bulb T5 Floro Grow Light / Fixture. Its 4 feet long, comes with a reflector and produces 20,000 initial lumens, and 18,000 minimum lumens. Its reletively cheap at $175 and it comes with two sets of 4 bulbs. Im thinking it would be enough for 12 sq. feet of growing space, around 6 plants if i throw in a few more high output compact floros too... Cabinet will be lined with mylar of course.

Yay or Nay??
Lemme Know

BTW: Growing lowryders, dont think ill need an HID Light for flowering, but the floro does come with bulbs that have more red spectrum in them and ones for the growth stage.
