Light Spacing

In a 6ft long by 3ft wide space, what would be the optimal spacing for 2 430w HPS lights. Can they sit side by side where the reflectors would nearly touch? Reflectors are not air cooled.

i would divide the length of the room by three (6' / 3 = 2') that should space the lights out evenly. Center the lights in 2' intervals.

Ditto. Especially if they aren't air cooled, keeping them close together will just make a furnace.

i've noticed if you'll read long enough all your answers are here, i'm rearranging my lights today the plants have outgrown where they were i'm so happy, my grows really looking good, i feel this erlke im growin's gonna be a good choice for starters

I would divide the room in 2 and center the lights within each 3' space.
