yellowing at the end of a plants life cycle can be a part of senesence. when the plant senses it is near the end of its life cycle, the plant begins to use all the nutrients like nitrogen etc. in the fan leaves to live off of before the plant dies, especially if theres a flush or nitrogen feeding is halted. which a lot of growers try to do to eliminate nitrogen salt build up, which can add harshness to the smoke. some growers add a little nitrogen at the end to keep em green, but it could be other issues too. we need more info and some pics help to really determine why yours are yellowing. is the yellowing at the bottom top or all over the plant. Are the tips getting necrotic. do they claw up or down. these are all factors in determining exactly what is going on with your plant.

you say its not sucking up water well, maybe youre overwatering and root rot is set in, or your soil has become too impacted and doesnt have enough drainage properties, if it is too impacted you can poke holes down into the soil , but you risk damaging roost, so be careful, but pics and info help best to diagnose any problems!

You can answer ifsixwasnine's questions in his journal. We tried already and he said his "plant" was loaded with trichomes and super healthy, apparently.

Very nice. What was the yellowing (which you cut) due to? Light burn or nutrients? (I'm having lots of yellow of fan leaves with my AK after 8 wks (think HPS burned them) and buds/triches are at a standstill - not sucking up much water. I hope it finishes well.) How long was flowering?

Thanks bro..the yellowing was normal fade down the stretch. I usually feed heavy right to the chop though and don't get much yellowing.

Thanks b...yeah I think I can do a little better next run in a Smart Pot with heavier feeding. I dont think this cut will ever be a heavy yielder though. I am okay with that so long as the smoke is fire.

Lol...I think I might be one of the few people who doesn't mind the smell of skunk so long as it is not too concentrated. I know, I am a bit touched in the head.

I had a Lemon Skunk plant I grew from a DNA freebie bean and it was extremely nute sensitive and never looked happy in growth overall but finished up with some really potent smoke. I rooted a cut to keep the strain going and transplanted it into FFOF soil in a cup and within a few weeks it had burnt up!

I think coco might be the best medium for that strain and go very light with the nutes...:joint:
