I just had a memory triggered!!

I had some .45 rounds dated 1918. TINS. The slugs were lead. Gummint Issue. When I fired them, they sparked.

My Daddy would not let me have a BB gun. He said (probably correctly) that I'd shoot someone with it. He let me save up for a year until I got $11.95 and bought a JC Higgins Single-Shot .22 and a $.46 box of LR. I was either 9 or 10 when I came walking home with it, proud as Punch.

Brought it to school, and the teacher made a nice fuss over me, using the rifle as a point to reach the rest of the kids to save and work for a goal.

Schools were different then.

Just bought the Red Ryder about a yr ago to piss off squirrels. Fkers get into my garden and fruit trees.

Becuz I wuz a GI at the time, making $91.30 a month. GI-Issue .45's were essentially free. The 45LC rounds were not even available locally. And they were terribly expensive.

It wuz a no-brainer.

I had a feeling that free Joe issue stuff was the factor.

To bad the double standard in this country is gonna protect the guilty from the lowest hanging fruit all the way up to the top. All we can do is sit on it. To many RHINO's in bed with them. That is why I listen to William Devane...buy gold....I wonder if he does.....NOT
