At what point would you switch from veg state to flower state?

It depends on your goals and your available space. The longer you wait, the bigger the plant will be when you flip. And when it starts to flower it will stretch as much as a foot. Some run 12/12 always, and seedlings switching to veg will flower right away. Just pick a time, and change the lights. If you are unhappy with the yield, let them get bigger next time before flipping. If they end up burning themselves against the lights, flip them sooner next time : )

I was just wondering how long for the veg state. I read where some keep it at 24/7 for a few months. And just making sure: Is it 8-12 weeks for flowering?

Depends on the strain but photos average 8-12 weeks but some like Maui Waui go up to 16 weeks

I veg mine a min of 8 weeks but I let some go 90 days for my outside girls.

Don't you have a 4x4 tent? That light might be okay for a 2X2, but probably not much bigger than that. There's no way that burple light is 1000W either, more like 100W power consumption. You should be looking at something with around 400W power consumption. I took a quick look around and the cheapest light for a 4X4 I saw was this one from Philizon. Might be some cheaper/better ones around, or you might find two 200W lights for less.

Between one and four, I'd guess. Best yield with one or two. More variety with a reduced (somewhat) yield as you add more plants. 2x2 for each plant is common.

I have the same size tent I use to veg with. If I flowered in there I would stay with one or two plants. You'd have to flip them quick. I'm sure if not timed right they could be a messy overgrow.
