On Mother's Day: Why My Lips Stayed Chapped! - - author unknown - -

We had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat, and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on an old mat in our bathroom.

Well we have three kids, and at the time of this story, they were 4-year-old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Sam. Sam really loved chapstick. LOVED it! He kept asking to use my chapstick and then he'd lose it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I kept my chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was finished.

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around, trying to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys were fighting over the toy in the
cereal box. I was trying to nurse my little one at the same time I was putting on my make-up. Everything was a mess and everyone had long forgotten that this was a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally had the older one and the baby loaded in the car and I started looking for Sam. I searched everywhere and I finally rounded the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was my boy.

He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . butt. Sam looked right into my eyes and said "Chapped."

Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right -- their little bottoms do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind. And the only question to really ask at that point was whether it was the first or the hundredth time.

And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's rear end.

Oh **** i havent missed mothers day again have i??...

lol, nice story, the innocence of a child IS priceless. To be that age again lol, worrying about 'that loose tooth' or 'missing that cartoon' or 'not getting that toy you wanted'... I think if i knew the worries i had infront of me today when i was a kid, i probably would have grown into a complete tweaker lol..

lol yeah you did i got my mom a card :( not much but hey its better then nothin lol

My mom doesn't deserve for me to aknowledge Mother's Day, but I will **** it up and send a card and a small gift from the kiddos. ;) After all, I'd hate for her to forget about me come Christmas time when she gives out those checks. Haha!

I will say that I learned a lot about what NOT to do as a mom and I am a much better mother to my kiddos. My kids think I'm the Bee's Knee's! :D Maybe I should go find her chapstick...haha

Happy Mother's Day ahead of time for all you mom's out there. Kick the feet up and get stoned while watching your favorite movies all day.
don't forget to remind everyone the mandatory breakfast in bed. ;)

I agree, but cops sure do come close to being all bad(IMO-99.387% are bad or will cover for the 85% really bad ones)...In the US anyway, for I can only speak of those in which I read about on a daily basis and have dealt with on a "so-called" professional basis...Having worked in the legal field as well as having many friends that do as well...Criminal Defense work really opened my eyes to the dishonesty and arrogance within law enforcement here in the US. The truly disgusting thing is that when you catch cops doing things such as altering police reports, most judges refuse to do anything about it!

Plus, has anyone noticed that at high % of cops appear to be on steroids? It may just be me but almost every cop looks like they have been inflated with air! We should call for all law enforcement to be drug tested and see what kind of responce that gets! LOL!

Sorry, just venting.

Lol ok stoney i totally agree man.. thing is i tried to make that as "statement" or "fact" as i could..

hell, i have a few muslim friends, and i guess that comment where i live would be more fact, even amung them than a political statement..

Somebody needs to update that list to include the USA and the date for the other countries to recognise!

Happy mothers day to all the moms
