First timer here!

I want to say hi to all the fellow stoners out there. A friend told me about this site! Im about to start my first grow. Havent quite got everything set up yet, but will very soon. Is the light to big? i had a friend that grew and his biggest mistake was not enough light. thats one thing i did not want to happen to me. my area is about 4 feet wide and 6 feet long. will that be dangerous with that amount of light?

A 1k will require a good flow through ventilation system, both for air exchange for healthy plant growth AND cooling the environment.

I didn't say it would be too much light, there is no such thing. I stated that I thought it would be too hot for the growing space; without proper ventiliation, that is. Isn't MH supposed to get hot? Or am I just too high to know what I'm talking about?

Nope. you aint "too" high. (like too much money or too much fun)
Any 1000 watt is going to require ventilation, but lumens per sq ft is also a requirement.
