Lost my father at 66 and my father in-law at 67 and my best friend/brother to lung cancer. Father-in-law had quit smoking for ten years. Chemo and radiation got 'em before the cancer did.
I got lucky, if you can call lung cancer lucky. Can't remember what flavor it was, but it was the slowest growing kind, and I was a heavy smoker since I was 15. Had it in both lungs, but it was two different cases of stage one. Cost me half of my left lung and a quarter of my right, but no chemo or radiation.
