Nice lumen/life ratio. Drops only 70% over the course of its life. Lumen output is a little higher.....
but, I a cheapo and buy bulk at econolight for about 5 bucks a bulb. They put out just fine for me.
I wish they would put the price tag in the brochure though....I always get nervous when you gotta dig up the average price.
Most bulbs I have found you have to swap em out after about 1/2 its "listed" life span. Ussually I will get 2 grows under one bulb before I swap. But I only flower (12/12) with an HPS. If your running start to finish then I'd replace the bulb after every grow (2 is pushing it IMO). Guess thats why I buy em cheap. adds up quick.
If you get one let us know the heat output and stuff, I would be curious.

I'm going to try one. I'll keep everyone updated.

That is a "stand by light" both arc tubes do not light It will just light the other tube if the power goes out for a second.

Also not quite sure why people change there bulbs extra often.
I know lummens are lost over time but usually years of service not hundreds of hours.

If we flower with a HPS rated at 10000 hours, and only use it for half its rated life we get near 7.5 grows from it at only 5000 hours use.

ex.- 8 weeks flowering @12 hours 7 days a week = 672 hours

I use em half life then put em up. If I ever get em blown out I can grab a used one and still finish it up. but again I buy the 5 buck ones on econolight so I figure its so cheap 2 grows for 5 bucks ain't bad. Aslo as lumen decreases penetration decreases as well. I like that light pounding as deep into the canopy as possible.
I have noticed on my cheap bulbs as the initial spike hits the bulb upon turn on it wears on the bulb more. They rate those life's upon continous operation. They do not account for turn on and off. Which upon the initial strike the power spikes to get the bulb to ignite. This spike does make things wear out faster. but what ever works. most of my bulbs don't have that life span, but again I buy cheap ones.
