I am on my first grow and have 4 plants, eac of varying height. I use a 400-watt HPS in a 7"x4" closet. I want to start flowering but I am afraid that the buds on the tallest plant, which is about 4" tall, will get burned. I have the shorter plants elevated on stands so I am not worried about them. Currently the top of the tall plant is about 10 inches from the bottom of the ballast. I can only raise the light another 4 or 5 inches. The temperature in the room at the top of the tall plant is 80-85 degrees, but I have a fan blowing on the plants. What should I do to keep from burning the buds?

Thanks for any help

Yeah i would tie that tall plant down. I just did this to my puna budder female becasue she is taller then where my lights hang now, but the rest of the plants the lights height is perfect. I tied around the stem in the middle of the plant first, then tied the other end to a hook located close to the floor. Slowly bend the plant and ease it into position, mj plants can bend more than most plants. I then tied another string about 8inches back from the main tip and tied that up the ceiling, this leveld out the main cola and now looks like a vine. Hope this detail helps you get the image in your head! Peace and love!!!!!!!! Keep us posted!!
