Desperate Newbie

Hi guys,
my roommate and I are more broke than ever and at the same time, the biggest stoners we've ever been. We're tired of getting ripped off by weak little 8ths. We've finally manned up and decided to grow. Though we are excited, we have no idea what we're doin.
We have a huge closet to grow in, and that's about as far as we've got so far. If anyone can give us any tips on how to start off (just growin a couple plants) that would be FANTASTIC.

Yea just read... but basically, you wanna start out using good seeds from some good weed that u bought, no need to spend unnecessary money on ur first grow. Secondly, you wanna think about using soil or hydro, I would suggest soil. There are a lot of threads on this site that tell what to have in ur soil this and that, so read and then ask questions. lighting is an issue as well, not all lights will work, so check the lights section and get your info from there. Then ur set to grow, germinating shouldn't be a problem, for their first 3 weeks, lighting should be 16 hours on and 8 hours off, then start feeding them nutes a little bit at a time, on or after 6 weeks of this "vegging" state, you will want to put them into their "flowering" state, to produce the lovely buds. You just change the light cycle to 12 on/12 hrs off. About a week in, you will be able to tell the sex of your plant, males produce pollen sacs, females produce little hairs coming out... basically they keep budding until the trichs (small thc bubbly thingies on the bud) turn from clear to cloudy, then to amber, around 60% amber. you will need a microscope to see clearly. then harvesting shouldn't be a problem, its quite easy, and simple, just be patient with it, you will have a lot of time to read about it... i think i covered it all in a glimpse... haha welcome to MP buddy!!!

You are in for some fun, starting your first grow. READ read read, yep. And def use the bag seeds as HippyInEngland says for the first grow. You will learn so much and have possibility of major problems, bag seeds wont cost so much.

aloha...and welcome to MP. yr gonna love yourselves for this. start about 3 or 4 times as many seeds as you will ultimately need and keep the strongest females. gives you some room for error also...thats my 2c
