For Boeing it was the strike, I'm told. No idea how that keeps them from paying their bills, but whatever. Really, no idea on any of the reasons I heard that other groups used.

I'm hoping my coworkers find decent positions elsewhere. I'm still bummed they will be leaving. It's as easy in VA as it is in Texas as well, though a similar paying job in this part of VA might not be so easy, and who wants to uproot their family this time of year.
Nope I did that once it sucked big time

Hope your co workers find something.👍

These things are growing super fast. I'm starting to want to up pot at least a couple of females to harvest instead of just making seeds. The little one on the left is a GDPA in some raised garden bed soil, and is already starting to yellow. I'm going to have to move it into some coco. Same with the SF seedling in the solo cup. It's the only one that popped in my last seed cracking experiments. I'm learning, though.

A strike is usually only good for the Union. Everyone else gets shafted by higher prices on that particular product.
That's why it cost so goddamn much for a new truck or car. It's called the UAW/ Mafia.
Kinda like the fking Government and raising taxes. They get raises and the ppl paying the taxes always get fked.
I'm am so glad that Texas is a Right To Work State. The little guy starting a business actually stands a chance against the Unions.
I was one of those little guys at one time.

VA is right to work as well. I don't have anything good to say about unions. Probably get myself censored for saying what I do think about them : )

Like everything else, there's good and bad with unions. I never liked them, but worked 30 years in a job covered by one. Even got gently pushed into a steward job the last eight years. Half of my union work was HR stuff, assisting folks who had difficulties working and communicating with management.
Upper levels of unions, like management, becomes more corrupt and self serving. But unions got us 40 hour weeks, paid holidays and vacations, and much safer working conditions which can't be overlooked.

I am not a fan of unions. The one union I was forced upon me only took my money and did nothing for me. I got fired for being in the hospital. I was unconscious having s miscarriage. I no called no showed. They fired me. Later I found out they fired me so they could replace me for 1/2 price. Unemployment had a hay day. I had all the documentation I needed. Anyway the union did nothing at all.

It is the only job I ever got fired from.

Getting weird here now. My coworker who I've worked with for 31 years is gone (two jars of weed in tow), and took it pretty well. But my software manager, who I placed in that position, is waiting to have a technical discussion with me, and I know she's going as well. I'm not happy with the way this is being handled. Also learned the cash I loaned the company over the summer is not going to be repaid on time. I may be looking at the beginning of the end.

Wish my wife hadn't convinced me we need a pool now : ) Of course, it will give me somewhere to lounge around and get stoned...

My union got me a good wage/retirement. Besides that, nothing. If the boss walked in Monday morning and fired me, so be it. I stood beside the union when they were in the right, and I fought them tooth & nail when they were in the wrong.

I think unions had their place a long time ago as protection from greedy business owners. They have morphed into protectors of the employers. My wife was a member of the state workers union and they did nothing to protect her during the plandemic. She was granted a religious exemption from getting the gene therapy but the union was all in on making Pfizer billions so they let the state fire all those who didn’t bend over. She even paid her union dues after the state outlawed mandatory union dues. When she was rehired after they figured out the jabs were useless, the dimwits at the union actually asked her to resume paying union dues. She told them to, er, pound sand using a much more colorful phrase.
