Havent grown in 10+ years but its legal here now so why not... Lots more info to come but wanted to get this started

Will list strains and everything I can remember to this point. In future posts.

Started with 8 clones from a local dispensary. July 10th 2019. Pics are in 1 week intervals.

Vegged with 16 on 8 off under 1000w MH light. Currently undergoing 36 hrs of darkness and starting 12/12 tomorrow 9/14/2019.

Why are you using a MV lamp? Those things are a waste of wattage and you'd honestly be better off with boring ol' shop light tubes! If you want to throw real juice at it, invest in a switchable MH/HPS to take you through the whole cycle. The market for used ones on craigslist is awesome right now since lots of folks are getting rid of yhem in favor of LED. Your plants will thank you!

Haha ya tired last night when I posted...ty for catching that. MH 1000w for veg and HPS 1000w for flower. Just switched the bulbs during the dark cycle. It's a switchable system I've had in the garage for years. I'll probably invest in a LED at some point but already had this =)

I've always done 24 hr dark periods in the past to start the flower. I dont believe its necessary but it's what I've done before. I did 36 this time to sync light/dark up with my work schedule

Have done the same, can confirm it's never been an issue. I even did something similar DURING flower a couple times when my work schedule changed (extra night like you're doing, not extra day obviously, and I think it was only like an 18-20 hour night that synced things up) and found no evidence of herms later on.

I grew up with a ton of growers in Humboldt. A majority of indoor growers I've known and in previous grows I've done myself I have done 24hrs of dark in the switch to stimulate the plants hormones to kickstart the flower process. I've never had a plant herm out on me doing this personally. It's what I was taught and have always done it.

To add a bit more to my journal....

I have a 252 cfm fan intake and a 252 cfm outtake fan running through my light and also a 100 cfm outtake fan as well a ceiling fan and also a 24" box fan and a 10" rotating fan blowing on the plants.

I have 2 Mac #4s, 4 Black Cherry OGs, 1 Lightsaber, 1 Sour Mango Sherbert (See attached pics)

Used Liquid Peruvian Guano for Veg, and Starting Liquid Mexican Guano for flower. Also started using Calmag half way though veg cycle (attached pics)

All grown with Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil mixed in with 25% Black gold perlite in 3 gallon containers.

I flushed 1 week prior to my flower cycle as I had slight symptoms on 2 plants of nut lockout. Seems to have corrected the deficiency.

I've also had a small breakout of WPM on 2 plants as well it seems to have only been on the 2 Mac #4s. I thought about tossing them but I live on the coast and battle high humidity so it's always a concern. I've opted to keep them and used SaferGro spray. Done this once 3 weeks ago. Once 1 week ago. Will do again in 5 days, and once again in the beginning of week 3 in flower and hopefully it will keep it in check.

I've LST trained the plants, FIMed all plants once and supercropped 3 stems the night before flower cycle to create an even canopy. Over the next 5 days I will remove 50% of the of the lower growth that will not receive the needed light, and in 2 weeks I will remove the other 50% of lower growth as not to stress the plants too much. One I've found that this helps produce larger colas on top, and two will give me greater airflow due to high humidity and help to keep the WPM in check or non existant. I also brought in a 35 pints dehumidifier that I am running during the night cycle to keep in the 40% range during flower. (Attached my temp humidity during the grow so far so you can see my highs/lows, at the time of this pic it's raining sideways outside lol)

I agree with you , white led, full spectrum is very popular in the markt now, such as Mars Hydro TS and SP, Gavita led, Fluence , Nextlght...

When I grow plants under led, my light cycl is 12/12 for flowering; 18/6 for veg , will it work for all different types light?

Well almost done with week 1 of flower. I sprayed 3 days ago with SaferGro as a preventive measure. I had a couple small spots of WPM during veg on 2 plants. No more signs for the past 3 weeks. Hope to keep it that way!

I removed some of the undergrowth that wont receive the needed light during flower and removed a very small amount in the canopy to promote better circulation.

I'm headed on to Mexico for the next 2 weeks for a much needed vacation. More updates then. Turning the grow over to my kid (hes 24) until I return. Left him good notes on what to do.

So I'm back from Mexico! Vacation was freaking awesome. Lots of scuba diving and snorkeling and a bit to much tequila lol...

Plants are in week 3 of flower now. While I was away my caretaker over watered a tad.... well basically he overwater the **** out of the plants!!! Cranked up the dehumidifier and increased circulation. Didnt do to much harm I think.

The Lightsaber strain is still suffering from a deficiency. It's a much lighter color than the others and still seems to be suffering from what I this is a combo of nitrogen and magnesium deficiencies. Once the soil dries out a bit from the overwatering I'm going to give a heavier dose of CalMag and Nitrogen and keep a close eye.

Other than that things are looking good.
