I saw some CFL'S that are 5000K-Will these be close enough for the 5400-5800 K-rating???
Just want to know what a CFL grower would thing.
Yes I know I would get better results with HID, HPS,etc...But I'm not going down that road-thank you-lol

Still Dazed.
One of these I will get out of this...

Hi GeezerBudd,

I think CFLs range from around 2700K (more red), to around 5500K (more blue).

The 5000K (there are supposed to be "full spectrum") should be fine for vegging, and you could prob use through flowering. However, swithcing over to the 3000K range for flowering could be more beneficial.

Hopefully others will chime in with some info and thoughts.

Be well.

i found 6500k cfls at home depot they also have them in 2700k, its harder to find them but they are out there. good luck.

I would use a combination of both spectrums to achieve the best results. Just my thoughts. Also, the more light, the better. Take care and be safe.

I got an HD pretty close-Thanks slomo.
Bpth Spectrums-hmm-kinda makes sense
We might try that, smokey.
