For growing both veg and flower, wouldnt it be wiser to buy bulbs of all kelvin range (2700k 3500k and 5500k), instead of just one band? thinking it would be a more complete spectrum of light, thus giving better sunlight simulation. I was thinking of running equal amounts bulbs for each kelvin rating, thank you for your responses

I wouldn't bother. I use 6300K CFLs to help the HPS during flower and I can see the difference. White light will work fine.

I grow with CFL in all rooms Use the 6300K to Veg and the 2700K to Flower.

How many do you use of each or would you use for a 1 or 2 plant grow?

You don't figure by the plant you figure by the Square footage

Average 26 watt 6300k has 1650 lumens (Daylight)
average 26 watt 2700k has 1700 lumens(cool white)

For a 1 ft x 1ft area you want 5000 lumens divide by 1650 lumens(vegging bulb 6300k)= 3 bulbs
This is the same for the flowering bulb = 3 bulbs

3 bulbs per ft2(1 ft x 1 ft) for all 26 watt cfl's
