California Set to Launch Pro-Marijuana Ad

A marijuana advocacy group is set to launch a new television advertisement in California promoting the drug as a solution to the state's budget woes.

The 30-second spot calling for legalizing and taxing the drug features a retired state worker who says state leaders "are ignoring millions of Californians who want to pay taxes." She says the state's marijuana consumers are tired of being treated like criminals and should be allowed to pay their "fair share."

State lawmakers are debating how to close a $26.3 billion budget deficit that likely means cuts to state services.

In February, Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco introduced a bill to tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol. Bill supporters estimate the state's pot industry could bring in more than $1 billion in taxes.

I think the main problem is that the Government is trying to figure out how to come out of this without looking too stupid, after all look how many people actually believed them in the first place , so how do you come out of this hog washing with grace ? remember when asprin was bad for you and all the damage the government did to it . and now it can save your life , can't wait to see how they deal with this act of stupidity? be looking forward to it for sure !

They ran the add on the 9 Oclock news, as well as talking about how we want to pay taxes on our sales, but i do not know about alot of the other owners out their but I pay my taxes, every transaction that is done sales tax is added, ohh wait and my property tax etc etc etc.. just my :rant:
