Not surprizing... You can compensate for over exposure rather easily. What happens is once you switch from "auto" to "manual", the camera will no longer compensate for you (duh.. Right?
) and all functions will remain the same in every lighting situation until you change them.. The easiest function to counter it is shutter speed. This might be designated on the back of your camera by a +/- button. Find out what your setting is and adjust it up a few notches and try again.
Also... When you toggle between the white balance settings it should give you a realtime idea of what it will look like on the LCD view finder. If you have an incandescent setting, just jump right to that. One thing I have noticed is a lot of flo and cfl lighting will also give me a yellowish wash in the auto setting.
