I bought 5gal bubble bags to process my trim and I know some ppl mix by hand, some ppl use kitchen mixers or whatever, but I don't have a kitchen mixer but I do have a cordless drill so I bought a mixing paddle, not the ones with blades cause I heard you don't want to chop it up, but one with hex shaped rebar type end (basically round "blades"), and I was wondering if anyone else mixes this way because I'm afraid it might be too violent since I read you want a slow, gentle mix.

yup, but I do have a 'variable speed' drill. If your product is still fresh/green, "IMHO" it's pretty tuff to overdo it..;)

I use a 3/8" variable speed plug in drill. I use the paint mixer with the blades.

I have nothing else to do, so I do it by hand:D

I used a cordless drill last year with a "highDIY" coat hanger invention, Just be careful hitting the seem on the bottom rim of the bubble bag. Kind of tore mine in one spot.

I prefer to hand mix for a much cleaner end product but which ever route you decide upon.
I'd recommend doing you mixing in a separate bucket, leaving it for 20 to 30 mins for the majority of trim to float and trichs to sink, then skim off the trim and then pour water/hash through your bag set.
This method will preserve your bags from any damage during the mixing process.

:aok:....

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way I can hand mix--even 1 gal bags. My hands are simply to bad with arthritis to do that. I have had my bags for years and have yet to rip the mixing bag when using a drill and a paint mixing paddle.

Good advice multi. Im still new at this, and last year was my first attempt to make bubble hash. Good thing to know for next time.
