Anyone know what it will take?

I have a 7x8 foot area with 7 ft ceiling in a basement to use and I would like to use CFL "because I already have them". So that said what is the minimum I need to get some tasty plants? I know basics like seeds duh.. and light.. but feel free to be as specific and assume i know nothing


i am thinking making two smaller area's 2.5x7 across from eachother flower and veg room.... giving me 3ftx5ft inbetween for a shelf and work area and access to the drain
