when my plants do get big enough buds on them do i have to harvest the hole plant or can i just take off a few buds and keep letting the plant go. and would that hurt my plants if i do do that

Some people harvest them as they become ready. But, it would be much easier to harvest the entire plant at one time.

you could also regenerate your plant...

after harvesting all but about 1/4 of the buds, flip lights and nutes back to veg for a few weeks and then back to flower again...your plant will survive for another harvest.

you can keep doing this for ever...SnowWhite loves it, I'm getting ready to harvest generation 4 next week...

or or harvest the top buds on the plant...carefully.
and you could try to let the lower buds finish budding.
do that, or just vegg again after you take the top buds....thats what i did.
it worked, but took a looong time to start growing again, and then budding again.
i think its better to just harvest, and grow a clone .

Well then if you want to grow,
Yes, MJ is a perennial, however most grow it and harvest it as a semi- annual. If you have good temps year around, or plan to grow it indoors, than yes you could just remove the buds, and keep it growing untill it wants to blossom again. Many plants can be forced as in what we do with artificial lighting when we go 12/12. If you stay outdoors with it then most likely you will get only one harvest a year. Some plants like a healthy Gardenia can and often do flower twice in a season, but I'm thinking that this is bred into the plant, don't know for certain why some do and some don't.
By the way I would choose either indoor or outdoor, BUT I would not bring an outdoor plant in too fast as you could end up with an explosion of little things that like to **** the juice right out of your baby. critters too love a nice warm relaxed atmoshere where there aren't too many predators. I like spiders that do not chew leaves for nests, wicked little hunters.
Good Luck

thank you guy's i really like all the advice yall have gave to me and since i know these girls was an accident i glad to know myself that i can grow things like this (lol)

King kahuna brings up a very good point. My first grow a very long time ago I put the plant outside and it got too big and became a risk. I brought it inside and they looked wonderful. Few weeks later had a huge infestion of spidermites before i knew it and lost one of the plants. You'd think stoned spidermies would be lazy lol, but they made quick work of it with nice atmosphere and no predators, anyways don't learn this lesson the hard way!
