A hair net of sorts?

It's past time for me to begin LST on my plants. I got to thinking that a big huge hair net would work beautifully. Do they make such a thing? Or is my way of thinking totally whack?

lol a huge are net lol for gaint people lol i dont know for LST i always use them some string or them hairy rod things you use for making like hhhuummm their really bendable they come in a bag with a bunch of them and their all different colors know what im talkin about??

I think you're talking about pipe cleaners...those fuzzy bendy things.

But the hair net idea intrigues me. I think Smokinmom might be onto something....

Hair nets might actually work.. it'd spread the 'pull' over a bigger area, maybe easier to LST?

You could also tilt your pots almost-sideways, prop them in place with bricks or something. Sort of like LST for the dirt.

I wouldn't use an actual hair net, but just the concept...

I bought some stones for my fishbowl, and it came in a plastic net bag. But it is pretty small. But I would think something like it, only larger could work for holding down branches and such. Hmmmmm, I'll keep on thinking.

I do however have some of those fuzzy wirey things called pipe cleaners.

If you've ever seen chicken wire that's probably what you would want. Or something similar to those wire mesh things use for tomatoes. You might even be able to use fishnet stockings that have the bigger holes.

Chicken wire is the way forward, just 3 layers about 4 inch apart, like 2 - 3 foot square in size, you can weave a plant in and out of that plenty

I wouldnt say you have rookie written all over you......you have "stoned " written all over you =), our minds think of the most obscure things when stoned, luckily thats the reason were all here....except for that one guy that grows for his wife but doesnt smoke.....none the less....i think it could work really well....year ago(they've since banned them because of a child strangulation hazard) they made these cheap throw away hammocks that you could find at walmart....they didnt last very long but they were inexpensive and made of one big net and they were dirt cheap.....i think that would work great......assuming i understood what you want to do.....but you might look online, maybe ebay....ive noticed they sell lots of stuff that you really wont find on the retail market....just an idea...

I use insolated wire to do my tie downs in LST. I just bought 20 ft. of wire, cut them to the size I need at the time, bend in a semi-circle at each end, then hook one end of the plant, pull it down and hook it to the side of the pot. When the plant gets bigger (up to about 16 inches), I usually train it to the side of one of the other pots in my veg room. Then I really spread them (the branches) out when they get to the flower room. Getting 1 1/2 to 2 z's per plant, under 450w hps, in soil using AN 2 part, with feeding of bat guano, worm castings and fish poop.
